St. Nicholas School has an excellent reputation with the Creative Arts. Creative partnerships with visiting artists greatly enhance the curriculum. Children have had opportunities to work with different artists and have created a stained glass mosaic, a woven tapestry and sculpture with an environmental artist.

Creative Arts ART
In Art Club children can develop skills and contribute towards special community project work, for example, for local churches and Sefton Foster Carers. Children’s work has been displayed at local venues such as the Atkinson Art Gallery and Bootle Town Hall.

MUSIC
Music and drama opportunities are well developed. There is a school choir which performs at outside venues such as local nursing homes and St. Nicholas’ Church.

Creative Arts The choir has also performed with Merseyside Police Band. Children at KS2 have also taken part in a Young Voices performance in Manchester. Our children also performed in the Sefton Schools Opera at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. In school, KS2 children were able to explore drama and music with specialist music/drama teachers and a songwriter in preparation for this special event. Children are able to learn recorder, guitar and violin in clubs, and with specialist music staff

Creative Arts DANCE/DRAMA
Each year KS2 children perform in the Wally Cain dance show at Southport theatre and they prepare for this with a specialist dance teacher. We also welcome visiting theatre companies into school.
All children also visit the City Learning Centre where the film studio is used to record class drama productions. We also perform annually in the Equality and Diversity concert.
